We are so GLAD you are here!
Maine welcomes you like a long absent child, cradling you against her bosom and whispering sweet words of love into your ear.
You feel the love and comfort of being home, like settling down on a cold night before a blazing fire in the fireplace with a steaming bowl of fish chowder or spicy chili.
As you drive over the bridge into Maine, you feel relief from the pressures of the world, slipping into vacation mode, ready for t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, sand beaches and long languid days of lazing around. Enjoy.
Here are some brief descriptions of the 8 areas:
Aroostook County: sometimes it seems like by the time you get there (it takes over 4 hours driving to get from Kittery to Houlton), your vacation will be over. But it is worth it, no matter which season you visit. Here is a brief video about The County…
Next is Downeast and Acadia, which everyone knows is where Acadia National Park is located. We always enjoy visiting the Park. Once my daughter and I took a glider ride on the way to the park- great experience.
Of course, Downeast includes a LOT more.
(More coming gradually – moving like cold molasses in this weather)
